  • Referring clinicians who want to understand the conceptual language and clinical approach used in this practice
  • Clinically sophisticated readers with background in psychology, psychotherapy, or consciousness research

What the Manual Explores

Archetypal fields in KAP

How universal symbolic patterns appear in non-ordinary states and what they may mean clinically.

Symbolic process

How to understand imagery and symbolic material during sessions without over-interpreting or imposing literal meaning.

Non-ordinary states

A clinically grounded framework for working with altered states of consciousness in a therapeutic context.

Clinical containment

How the therapeutic frame, the clinician's stance, and the session structure hold the experience.

Integration

How to help patients make sense of what emerged and integrate it into lasting psychological change.

Therapist stance

The importance of the clinician's own orientation — openness, groundedness, and professional humility.

The Five-Archetype Clinical Map

The manual presents a five-archetype clinical framework as a professional conceptual tool — not a mystical certainty. These categories help clinicians recognize common symbolic patterns encountered in non-ordinary states and approach them with appropriate clinical perspective. They are an interpretive scaffold, not a diagnostic system.

1

The Child

Themes of innocence, vulnerability, early wounding, and the possibility of psychological renewal. Often arises as regression to formative states or encounters with the inner child.

2

The Shadow

Disowned aspects of the self — rejected impulses, unacknowledged emotions, or split-off parts of identity. Integration of shadow material is central to therapeutic depth work.

3

The Trickster

Boundary dissolution, paradox, playfulness, and disruption of fixed patterns. Can manifest as humor, inversion, unexpected imagery, or sudden perspective shifts.

4

Death & Rebirth

Symbolic dissolution and transformation. One of the most consistently reported archetypal themes in non-ordinary states — not literal death, but the felt sense of fundamental psychological change.

5

The Self

A unifying center that transcends the personal ego. Associated with wholeness, integration, and the experience of meaning or coherence beyond symptom-level relief.

These archetypes describe symbolic patterns encountered in non-ordinary states. They are a clinical interpretive framework only — not literal entities, predictive outcomes, or claims about the metaphysical nature of ketamine experiences.

For Referring Clinicians

This manual can help referring therapists and prescribers understand the clinical language, integration framework, and symbolic-process approach used in this practice. It supports a shared conceptual frame that can enhance the continuity between preparation, session, and post-session integration work.
