Mental Preparation
Setting intentions is crucial for a meaningful KAP experience. Spend time reflecting on what you hope to gain from treatment - whether it's healing from trauma, breaking free from depression, or gaining new perspectives on life challenges.
Physical Preparation
Avoid eating heavy meals 3-4 hours before your session. Stay hydrated but don't drink excessive amounts right before. Get good sleep the night before and avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior.
Creating Your Space
Since sessions happen in your home, create a comfortable, quiet environment. Have comfortable pillows, blankets, and prepare your music playlist in advance. Ensure you won't be disturbed during the session.
What to Bring
Have a journal nearby for post-session reflections, tissues, and water. Consider having comfort items like photos or meaningful objects nearby if they help you feel safe.
After the Session
Plan for a quiet evening with no major responsibilities. Many people like to journal, rest, or engage in gentle self-care activities as they integrate the experience.
